Tools and Hardware Reviews of Black & Decker F1060 Steam Advantage Iron with Stainless-Steel SoleplateCustomer Review: does not work after a while Summary: 1 Stars
Okay this is my first review of a product ever, I'm really disappointed at what happened to this iron. I hope someone will read it and take it into consideration when buying this iron.
This is the second Black and Decker F1060 iron that I have bought. I bought my first one at Target, and the second one at Walmart. The iron is lightweight, has 6 different heat settings according the fabric type. A nice auto cleaning feature is also included. The product works as intended assuming it is still working.
The first Black and Decker F1060 iron that I bought died out on me 2 years into the date of purchase. I iron clothes anywhere from 20 to 60 minutes every week, with a maximum iron time lasting usually 30 minutes on average. I don't know what happened, but eventually it would turn on and off, and it would not heat up properly. I thought perhaps it was the wirings that finally gave out, so I went and bought myself another Black and Decker F1060 because I really love how lightweight this iron was.
My 2nd Black and Decker F1060 died out on me today, maybe a year into the purchase date. One day I was ironing my work clothes, then stood it up vertically to fetch another set of clothes to iron, I tried to iron my set of work clothes, and notice it was not heating properly, then notice it wasn't turning on, I checked to make sure it was plugged in, there was no power outage or blackout, I replugged it into the wall, used a different wall outlet, and still it would not heat up. Safe to say the iron died out on me again.
I don't know what caused it, I autocleaned the iron perhaps every 6 months when I notice there was sediment buildup coming out of the bottom of my iron in order maintain it. But it wasn't enough. I'm not sure if all irons are like this, eventually dying out after a year or so.
I'm just really disappointed, spent a total of 50 dollars for 2 Black and Decker F1060 iron, which eventually gave out on me. At this time I'm going to research iron online and read up on reliable ones which will last me forever.
